Does Forestieri have to break his leg to not get sent off asks Carlos

Sheffield Wednesday boss Carlos Carvalhal has questioned whether Fernando Forestieri needed to suffer a broken leg in order to avoid being sent off against Hull City last night.

Forestieri was shown a second yellow card for the second successive match following a clash with Michael Dawson late in the goalless draw at the KC Stadium.

The 26-year-old, dismissed against Preston North End last weekend, now faces a two-match suspension, meaning he will miss fixtures against Rotherham United and Brighton and Hove Albion.

Carvalhal told The Star: “It was a very bad decision. I’ve seen it on TV. Look at the defender’s reaction. He apologised to the referee and Fernando.

“He gave the second yellow because he thought Fernando had dived but he didn’t.

“It was a big mistake and we will now miss Fernando for two games. We can’t appeal it. There’s nothing we can do.

“I don’t know what Fernando can do. Maybe Fernando must break a leg and then he won’t get a yellow card and will be out of the game for four or five months.”

Forestieri rattled the crossbar in the first half which Wednesday shaded but Hull had the better of the Yorkshire derby after the break and Sam Clucas also hit the woodwork.

“We were more dangerous in the first half,” Carvalhal said.

“We had clear chances to score.

“They caused us more problems in the second half.

“In the end, we won a point in a tough game.”

Meanwhile, Claude Dielna has completed his loan move to Slovan Bratislava. The French defender will remain with the Slovakian side until the end of the season.
