Barbara Wilding, who moved to Dinnington from Grantham to pursue her life-long dream of managing a swimming pool, opened the site at Brooklands Park Industrial Estate on Saturday 12th April.

The pool closed earlier this year when its owners went into administration, but Barbara was determined to save the pool before the landlord filled it in.

Said Barbara: “I have invested all my savings, around £20,000, into this pool, but I am not in for the money- community is what matters to me.”

“It doesn’t stop here. I have plans to introduce lessons for people with disabilities, along with swimming sessions for OAPs and aqua aerobics.”

“I have had a lot of interest from nearby schools with pupils beginning lessons next week.”

“I also have plans to install a bar upstairs, along with a spacious room for dance classes and parties.”
