Dinnington: Waverley Gala a success despite wet weather

Despite torrential downpours, last Sunday’s Waverley Gala day raised hundreds for their charity of the year, the Rotherham Hospice.

Crowds flooded to the event which had live music, face painting, dance acts, theatre productions and much more.

The day was opened by the Mayor of Rotherham, Councillor John Foden, and his wife Kath.

The gala also hosted the first ever Waverley Dash, a 5km fun run organised by the Handsworth Roadhogs running club.
