Dinnington: Wales High School proud of high achievers

The anxious wait for A-level results is now over with students at Wales High School arriving early to pick up their grades on Thursday morning.

And it has been a year to remember - with pupils recording a 100 per cent pass rate.

Teenager Luke Cotter - who is one of many high achievers - secured a place at Oxford to study medicine.

Press officer, Paul Milligan, said: “While we are proud of Luke’s success, we are equally delighted at the success of all of our students, many of whom have battled hard for a place at a wide range of universities and in securing high profile apprenticeships.”

“In a turbulent year for A-Level outcomes the hard work and dedication of the students, supported by outstanding teaching, has led to a robust level of success.”

More students were accepted at their first choice universities than ever before, setting the standard for next year’s hopefuls.

Paul added: “During a year in which the number of top grades awarded has fallen nationally, the achievement of our students is inspirational.”

“In terms of the journeys taken by our students, many of whom have made outstanding progress since the age of 11, this is a particularly delightful set of outcomes.”
