Eliot Kennedy founded the Steelworks Academy, an artist development programme which aims to inspire developing talent through a series of workshops, in early 2013.

Following the success of his first songwriting camp held last December, Mr Kennedy is inviting anyone aged 14-plus of any ability to attend another intensive three-day course.

He said: “There was so much talent at the last camp and I really enjoyed the experience. Being able to spend one-to-one time with everyone who attended really allowed me to pass on my industry knowledge.”

Dale Mckay, 30, also from Dinnington, impressed with his musical abilities whilst attending the course last December and has been asked to sing at a concert alongside Mr Kennedy at Dinnington school on the 8th March.

Christine Amos, from Killamarsh, who also attended the course, said: “It was great to get some insight from people who are successful in the music business- I didn’t want to leave the creative bubble and return to normal life, but it certainly gave me impetus in my songwriting career.”

Participants in the songwriting camp will undergo indivdual and group sessions with professional mentors and record a demo of the songs they have written on the final day.

The programme costs £495 and will take place on 19th, 20th and 21st of Feburary at the Steelworks Studio in Sheffield City Centre. Email [email protected] for details.
