A LOCAL children’s charity is giving residents an early Christmas present tomorrow (Friday).

Four songs from the latest Blind Drivers album will be featured on 50 CD’s that will be dropped in different locations on Friday 23rd December.

The CD’s will be hidden in Santa hats and left at Parkgate Shopping Rotherham, Rotherham Town Centre, Lakeside Shopping Centre Doncaster and Sheffield City Centre - Fargate, Peace Gardens and Winter Gardens - where passers by can pick them up and take them home.

Event co-ordinator Claire Saddington for the Dinnington charity said: “We’re really pleased to be able to give a little something back to South Yorkshire people the Christmas who loyally support Safe@Last allowing us to continue our work with young people who run away. So while you’re doing your last minute shopping keep an eye out and you may get something special.”

The Santa Drop is part of promotions for the new live music event, Play Safe, which will take place on 9th March 2012.

The Play Safe gig will feature four popular local bands Kartica, Blind Drivers, Section 60 and The Maji at Plug. Tickets are £5 in advance and £6 on the door. Advance tickets are available from playsafe.eventbite.co.uk.

All funds raised will support Safe@Last’s work with vulnerable young people.
