Diamond award hopes
THE helpers of the Creswell Self Help Group nominated their friend and organiser Chris McAughey for the WRVS Diamond Jubilee Pin Award.
Chris has been with the Self Help Group since it began 30 years ago and has worked hard to ensure elderly and disabled people had the chance to enjoy a range of days out.
Group member Kathleen Goodwin said Chris was a great lady.
“Chris would be the first person to say that an organiser is only as good as her helpers, but the helpers also know that there has to be a leader,” she said.
“This has made for a very harmonious and happy club for three decades.”
