The popular shoe brand is opening on Friday, June 24, where the winner of the best shoe design will be announced.

The winning young artist will receive Clarks shoes for all of their family, two adults and two children’s pairs of shoes up to a maximum value of £250, and a sweetie hamper from Sweet Traditions.

Matthew Eliot, of Clarks, said: “We are really looking forward to the opening of the store here in Marshall’s Yard and can’t wait to become involved in the local community and meet our shoppers.

“We have lots planned for the opening day which we will be letting people know about in due course.

“For now we are busy with our fit out and looking forward to seeing what entries we get for our competition.”

Centre Manager, Alison Hall, said “We are really excited about this store opening and receiving calls weekly from people asking about the opening date.

“We wanted to try and get the young shoppers in Gainsborough excited about it as well and we thought after the success of the Mother’s Day competition this is perhaps the way to do it with a fantastic prize to finish it off courtesy of Clarks.”

To take part in the competition your child would have to draw/paint a picture, A4 in size, of their unique shoe design, include the name and age (of child), provide contact details and make sure the drawing is landscape (for the TV upload).

Entries need to be sent to Centre Management Marshall’s Yard, Britannia House, Beaumont Street, Gainsborough, DN21 2NA by post or hand delivered to Browns department store or Britannia House mail box (found within Britannia House ground floor entrance area, next to Timpsons).

Alternatively the illustrations can be scanned and emailed to [email protected].

The deadline for entries is Wednesday, June 22.
