Age UK Derby and Derbyshire’s Bolsover Befriending Services is searching for people who can provide a vital link for these people to the outside world.

The service is available to all adults aged over 18.

Service coordinator Sam Tock said: “Age UK already run successful befriending services in the High Peak and Derbyshire Dales areas, so we were delighted to be awarded funding from Derbyshire County Council to deliver a service across Bolsover.”

Christine Kneeling, a befriender who has recently completed her training said: “I first discovered the Bolsover Befriending Service by picking up a leaflet whilst at my local Job centre and decided to apply as a volunteer to help make a difference to some of the more lonely residents.”
