Derbys: New money to help raise standards in schools
Secondary schools across Derbyshire are to get extra support to raise standards under proposals agreed by the County Council.
A budget of £100,000 has been set aside for these measures which will also see a strengthening of the council’s secondary school improvement team.
The proposals include placing executive or mentor headteachers in struggling schools to help them improve and providing funding to train staff who would, in turn, pass on their expertise to others working in the vulnerable schools.
It is part of the authority’s strategy which aims to see every school rated good or outstanding by Ofsted.
