Dawson’s charity cash

A WORKSOP fish and chip shop owner has raised more than £2,000 for charity.

As well as serving great food, staff at Dawson’s Fish and Chip Restaurant also like to support the local community.

Chris Simms, who runs Dawson’s, on Gateford Road, with his wife Linda, took part in the Worksop Half Marathon last year.

He ran alongside his sons and niece in October’s event and thanks to the generosity of Dawson’s customers, they raised £2,174 for Weston Park Hospital.

The Sheffield hospital cared for Irene Dawson, who set up the family-run fish and chip shop with her husband Barrie in 1982, but sadly passed away around six years ago.
