Dad hits out at partner

A 26-YEAR-OLD Retford dad who kicked and punched his partner after an argument on New Year’s Eve has been sentenced to a 12-month community order.

Adam Moore, from Thrumpton Lane, and his partner of nine years fell out while on their way home after a night of drinking.

As they were walking through the town, he smashed a shop window along Carolgate. Worksop Magistrates’ Court heard how the two had a daughter, aged six, and the victim was willing to work on their relationship. Her statement read: “It all stemmed from the defendant drinking too much. We are fine when he does not drink. We are happy.”

Moore admitted to the charge of assault by beating on 9th January and was ordered to pay compensation of £1,000 for the window.
