Police were alerted by the smell of cannabis from Samuel Dixon's BMW when it was parked in the Matalan car park on Eastgate, at 11.20pm, on January 19, 2018.

Five wraps of 81 per cent purity cocaine, weighing 1.8 grams, were found, said prosecutor Brian Outhwaite.

The court heard he made a "full and frank admission" and said the drugs were for his personal use.

He has one relevant previous conviction for possession of cannabis in 2016, Mr Outhwaite said.

David Outterside, mitigating, agreed with the judge's sentence.

Dixon, 24, of Bault Lane, Worksop, pleaded guilty to possession of the Class A drug at the magistrates’ court.

Judge John Burgess, sitting as a district judge at Nottingham Crown Court on Thursday, handed him a 12 month conditional discharge.
