Worksop man charged after cannabis and cash seized in police raid

A 22-year-old man has been charged with a catalogue of offences after police seized ‘large amounts’ of cannabis and cash from a house near Worksop.

On Tuesday (April 27), officers from Bassetlaw Operation Reacher along with the County Knife Crime Team stopped a vehicle close to Worksop they believed to be linked to the supply and production of Class B drugs.

A 22-year-old man was arrested and a search of a property in Oldcotes was carried out, with a large amount of cannabis and cash discovered by police.

A spokesperson from West Bassetlaw Police said: “A special shout out to the occupant who kindly bagged and cropped the cannabis before our arrival. Saved us quite a lot of time, thank you.”

The man was charged with suspicion of driving without valid insurance or a licence, production of cannabis and possession of a Class B drug with the intent to supply.

He was remanded to appear in court today (April 29).
