A shoplifter has been given a community order after he admitted stealing from three Worksop stores.

Daniel White, 31, of Poplar Avenue, Thrybergh stole two lots of meat totalling £18.50 and cheese worth £6.

He also admitted failing to appear at an earlier court appearance.

Magistrates heard he was captured on the stores’ CCTV taking the items and had a ‘substantial history of dishonesty.’

White was given a 12 month community order with 100 hours of unpaid work, at Worksop Magistrates Court last week.

He must also pay £24.50 in compensation, £20 costs and a £60 victim surcharge.
