Worksop burglar crept through open window as victim slept

Loren Shackleton, 29, of no fixed abode, snuck into a home in Stubbings Lane, Worksop, overnight on Saturday 4 April by climbing through an unlocked downstairs window.

Once inside she took jewellery and mobile phones before leaving.

Appearing at Nottingham Crown Court on Thursday Shackleton was sentenced for one count of burglary and four counts of fraud.

She received an 18 month community order, a six month drug rehabilitation order and 100 hours of unpaid work.

She was also given a three month curfew order to be imposed by electronic tag for three months.

Detective Constable Jann Olsen, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “These kinds of offences can have a lasting impact on victims and will always be taken incredibly seriously by Nottinghamshire Police.

“Shackleton snuck into somebody’s home as they slept and took valuable items from inside – but, fortunately for us, not before leaving clear finger prints on the window she climbed through.”
