Two arrested after £300,000 cannabis grow found in Worksop

Two men have been arrested and around 300 cannabis plants uncovered in Worksop.

Neighbourhood officers attended a property in Waverley Street at around 10am today (Wednesday 1 July) following a report from a member of the public.

Two men, aged 27 and 20, were arrested at the scene and remain in custody.

The plants, which have a street value of around £300,000, have been removed by the force's Cannabis Dismantling Team and will now be destroyed.

Beat Manager Police Constable Lee Ryan said: "We are working hard to flush out criminal activity in the Manton area and have been carrying out lots of activity in order to gather intelligence on areas that we need to be looking at.

"We're also working with the local community who are contributing to our evidence gathering and we encourage residents to report any of their concerns to us on 101 so we can act accordingly.”
