Sheffield Magistrates’ Court heard on March 5 how James Kenworthy, 38, of John Street, Worksop, was spotted driving erratically in Rotherham before he was stopped and failed to provide a breath specimen.

David Marshall, prosecuting, said Kenworthy had been weaving and swerving over white lines and was moving between lanes on a roundabout.

Mr Marshall added Kenworthy failed to provide a roadside breath test and failed to provide a breath specimen at the police station.

Kenworthy pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen after the incident on January 25.

Mr Majeed, defending, said Kenworthy has suffered a relationship breakdown and started drinking and gambling and had been upset after his father became seriously ill.

Magistrates fined Kenworthy £307 and he must pay a £32 victim surcharge and £85 costs. He was banned from driving for 12 months.
