Shocking pictures emerge as investigation into Whitwell hit-and-run continues

It happened happened at around 3pm on Thursday (July 16) on Whitwell high street.

A Mitsubishi Outlander is reported to have struck a man on the pavement before crashing into a fence outside the Boot and Shoe pub.

The 38-year-old man was taken to hospital with ‘several broken bones’.

Police said the offenders fled the scene on foot, leaving items including a mountain bike, alloy wheels and a compressor.

They are now appealing to the public for help to trace the offenders and property left behind.
