Below is a list of some of the Nottinghamshire criminals jailed for long prison sentences in 2018.

They were all jailed for over five years for offences which include murder and sex offences. The list is not exhaustive.

Lee Carnell, 27, of The Crescent, Stapleford, and Martin Brown, 23, of Anslow Avenue, Nottingham were jailed for a string of burglaries across the county. Carnell got 6 years and 9 months while Brown was jailed for 7 years

A 72-year-old Bulwell man was jailed for 8 years after calmly buying a knife and stabbing a man after  an argument. Roy Lowe, of Rona Court, Bulwell, admitted causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Michael Foster, 39, formerly of St Johns Place, Mansfield, was convicted of murdering his partner, 44-year-old Paula Harris, after he strangled her with his bare hands. He was sentenced to 16 years.
