Reports from the courts: defendants from the Worksop area

These are the latest cases heard at Nottingham Magistrates' Court, between Monday, June 7, and Friday, June 11.

Charlotte Brookes, 24, of Cheapside, Worksop, admitted drug driving with 6.7 mcgs of cannabis when the specified limit is 2 mcgs, and driving without insurance or a licence, on November 27, 2020. On June 7 she was fined £350 with a £34 surcharge and £85 costs. She was banned for 18 months.

Luke Davies, 25, of Meadow Road, Worksop, admitted two counts of assaulting a police officer, on June 4. This put him in breach of a community order, made on July 28, 2020, for assaulting a police officer. On June 7 he was given a 12 month community order with six months of treatment for alcohol dependency. He was ordered to pay £25 compensation to each officer with a £95 surcharge and £85 costs.

Gary Perkins, 36, of Potter Street, Worksop, admitted five counts of theft and two counts of failing to surrender to court. On June 7, he was fined £40, with £83 compensation and a £95 surcharge. A 12 month community order was made with 15 rehabilitation days.

Nottingham Magistrates' Court

Rafal Kojder, 33, of Gladstone Street, Worksop, admitted drink driving with 72 mcgs of alcohol when the legal limit is 35 mcgs, on July 12, 2020. On June 7, he was fined £900 with a £90 surcharge and £85 costs. He was banned for 20 months.

Andrew Merritt, 31, of Cheapside, Worksop, admitted theft while he was on a suspended sentence order for stealing, on June 7. On June 8 he received a six month prison sentence and was ordered to pay a £128 surcharge.

Geoffrey Loverseed, 42, of Park Street, Worksop, admitted six counts of theft, breaching a bail condition and possession of crack cocaine. On June 9 he was sentenced to 21 weeks in prison and ordered to pay £112 compensation.

Piotr Swiniarski, 38, of Ravenscroft, Worksop, admitted drink driving with 133 mcgs of alcohol when the legal limit is 35 mcgs. On June 9 he received an 18 week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, and must pay a £128 surcharge and £85 costs. He was banned for 48 months.

Michal Szydlowski, 35, of Woodhouse Close, Rhodesia, Worksop, admitted drink driving with 41 mcgs of alcohol when the legal limit is 35 mcgs, and driving without a licence on June 19, 2020. On June 10, he was fined £400 and ordered to pay a £40 surcharge and £85 costs. He was banned for 12 months.
