Police issue CCTV appeal after serious sexual assault in Retford cemetery

The attack is believed to have taken place at Retford Cemetery on Thursday, December 12, between 3.30pm and 4pm.

Detectives believe the man in the video may be able to help with their investigation and have asked him or anyone who recognises him to get in touch as soon as possible.

Detective Constable Naomi Spencer, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This is a complex investigation that requires a thorough approach. We are exploring a number of lines of inquiry to establish who committed this serious offence”

“We believe that we are looking to speak to a white man, aged 19 to 25 years, approximately 5ft 11ins tall, of slim build with no facial hair.

“He is described to have been wearing dark blue jeans and black hood attached to a jacket at the time of incident.

“We are appealing for anyone who may have seen the man in the footage or the man described to speak to us.

“Did you notice anything out of the ordinary? Did you see something that has played on your mind since that day? Any detail, no matter how small, could help us find who did this.

“If you have any information, witnessed something or have dashcam footage of the man in the video, please do not hesitate to contact us on 101, quoting incident number 424 of December 13, 2019.”
