Officers from Nottinghamshire Police were called at just before 12.15am on July 3 to the Co-Op on Plantation Hill, Worksop.

It was reported that a group of people used power tools in order to weaken the walls around the cash machine, before linking a chain to a silver 4x4 to help drag the front of the cash machine out.

Prior to the vehicle leaving the car park, it has a frightening near miss with another vehicle travelling along Plantation Hill from the direction of Thackeray Close towards Sitwell Road.

The CCTV footage shows a group of people working together to try and remove the cash machine from the wall.

Detective Inspector Steve Wragg said: “This was clearly a pre-planned hit, which has caused a lot of disruption to a valued local business.

“Our investigation into this incident is well under way. However, I would still encourage anyone with more information, and in particular anyone who may have seen a silver 4x4 in the area, to come forward.

“I am particularly keen to speak to the driver that was travelling along Plantation Hill. We’re determined to find those responsible and to make sure that crime does not pay.”

The group used a silver 4x4 to pull the cash machine from the wall.
