Katie Crowder, aged 26, of Wharmby Avenue, Mansfield, is accused of scalding the toddler to death on March 6 this year, and then stalling before raising the alarm to “cover her tracks”’.

Crowder, who denied murder, claimed she found Gracie unconscious on the bathroom floor next to an overturned mop bucket and water on the floor.

BREAKING: Mansfield mother found guilty of scalding her 19-month-old daughter to death

A Mansfield woman scalded her 19-month-old daughter to death by pouring boiling hot water over her and then waited for the toddler to die before raising the alarm, a jury has found.

11.53am: Crowder has been taken down. Relatives have left the court screaming and shouting.

11.49am: The judge is thanking the jury for their involvement in "what must have been a very difficult case".

11.48am: Crowder has her head bowed in the dock.

11.46am: The judge has said he would like some time to give the case some more consideration. He intends to adjourn the case until Wednesday of next week for sentencing.

11.45am The jury are coming back in.

A verdict has been reached.
