Crowder, 26, of Wharmby Avenue, Mansfield, was found guilty by unanimous verdict after a 14-day trial at Nottingham Crown Court last week.

Crowder had claimed that she had found Gracie unconscious in the bathroom of their home on March 6 this year, and immediately rushed the lifeless toddler to parents’ home in the same street, to raise the alarm.

But the prosecution proved that Crowder had deliberately scalded the toddler to death, and then watched her die before raising the alarm, while high on cocaine.

The trial was also played a recording of Gracie’s grandparents desperately trying to save her life after calling 999.
