Man wanted for multiple thefts arrested following police chase near Chesterfield

Police arrested a man following a chase between on the outskirts of Chesterfield who was wanted in connection to multiple thefts.

The male was high on drugs, had drugs in his possession, as well as stolen number plates, a tweet from Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit states.

The chase took place between Clowne and Duckmanton, where the offender was arrested.

The man, who has not been identified was arrested following a chase on foot after he abandoned the Ford Mondeo he had been driving at the time of the pursuit.

The man was arrested near Chesterfield

He failed to stop, drove dangerously then ran away on foot, the tweet states. His licence had been revoked and he had no insurance.

The unit tweeted: “Clowne to Duckmanton. Mondeo linked to male wanted for multiple thefts. Fails to stop, drives dangerously and runs off. Foot chase, caught and arrested Revoked licence, no insurance, on drugs, in possession of drugs and found with number plates stolen overnight.”
