“Our team utilises this police power on a daily basis and carries out regular patrols of different areas, based on intelligence we receive of criminal activity.

“We are constantly on the move across different locations in the county, with the main purpose of trying to target people who could potentially be carrying knives and other weapons.

“Often this does lead to us uncovering other offending though, such as those involved in drug activity.

“We’re pleased to have been able to arrest two suspects, although inquiries are still ongoing into this incident, so we’d ask anyone with information to contact 101, quoting incident 23000153973.”
