A BLYTH teen has been fined and banned from driving after being caught drunk and without insurance being the wheel.
On 15th August at around 1.40am, Thomas Robert Kitchen, 19, from Sheffield Road in Blyth, was found driving a Peugot 307 down Newcastle Street in Worksop with over double the legal limit of alcohol in his breath and without third party insurance.
He had been at a house party and thought he was insured on the vehicle.
Defending Kitchen, Mr Verrity said: “He is a young man of previous good character who is hoping to join the army.
Kitchen was disqualified from driving for 18 months, fined £220, and ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge and £85 in costs.
