Jail for Notts man caught with drugs and burglary tools

A Notts man who was caught with drugs and burglary tools also admitted assaulting and threatening a woman.

Anthony Morris was found with amphetamine and cannabis, as well as screwdrivers, pliers and a torch, in Bircotes, on November 17, 2019.

On March 17, he assaulted a woman in Harworth, and used threatening words against her.

He damaged her window, and the window of another couple, on Chatsworth Court, Harworth, on May 4.

He failed to attend court on January 3.

Morris, 30, of Stuart Road, Carlton-in-Lindrick, pleaded guilty to going equipped, possession of drugs, assault, damage and threats, when he appeared at Mansfield Magistrates Court, on May 8 and 14.

He was ordered to pay £100 compensation to each of his victims, as well as £207 in court costs.

He was jailed for a total of 17 weeks because the offences were aggravated by his previous record.
