James Sweeney assaulted the paramedic on Beehive Street, on May 24, last year.

Sweeney, 39, currently of HMP Nottingham, pleaded guilty after initially denying the charge, when he appeared at Nottingham Magistrates Court, on April 7.

He was sentenced to 14 days in prison and was ordered to pay £75 compensation to the man he attacked.

His guilty plea was taken into account when sentence was passed.
