Driver fails to stop at crash

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a motorist involved in a crash failed to stop at the scene.

An Audi A3 was seen “driving aggressively” as it sped towards Retford on Sunday 7th August.

The car became caught up in a queue of traffic on London Road where it then reversed into a silver BMW that had stopped behind.

It happened at about 8.50pm at the junction of Bracken Lane and Whinney Moor Lane.

The motorist then drove off from the scene and failed to report the accident.

PC Gary Glover from Retford Police Station is investigating the incident.

He said: “I am extremely keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or manner of driving displayed by the driver of the Audi A3 both before and after the collision.”

“There was significant damage caused to the BMW and it is extremely fortunate that the driver was not injured.”
