Drink driver hit parked car in Worksop

A drink driver in Worksop who hit a parked car has been sentenced after he failed to turn up to court for the second time.

Artur Grudzinkski clipped a kerb and knocked the wing mirror off a car, parked on Newcastle Street, at 9pm, on September 25, last year.

Police found him by his Ford Focus, car keys in hand, and unsteady on his feet.

A test revealed he had 77 mcgs of alcohol in 100 mls of breath, when the legal limit is 35 mcgs.

He said he drank two cans of lager after work, but received a call asking him to work at a bakery.

Grudzinkski, 45, of Watson Road, Worksop, was convicted of drink driving, and driving without a license or insurance, in his absence, on March 2.

Mansfield magistrates fined him £500, with a £50 victim surcharge and £85 costs, on Wedneday. He was banned for 20 months.
