Appeal for man who attacked pensioner

POLICE are searching for a man who carried out an apparently unprovoked attack on a pensioner in Worksop.

The 66-year-old man was pushed over a garden wall and then struck over the head with a shoe in Valley Road, at around 8.45am on Monday 10th January.

His attacker fled when two witnesses intervened.

The offender is described as a white male, aged 35-40, of stocky build. He had dark hair and was unshaven.

He was wearing a black bobble hat, black sip-up hooded top, black trousers and black or dark-coloured boots.

Police suspect that the offender is local and possibly lives in the Raines Avenue area.
