Fire crews were called to another blaze at a derelict fire in Worksop yesterday (Wednesday 17th April).
Emergency services attended the house fire on Gateford Road at 3.33pm where a large quantity of tyres were alight. The fire was out by 4pm.
It was the second fire of that nature that day. Another empty building was reported at around 3.10am on Clarence Road.
“These are the type of properties that we get called to regularly,” said a spokesman from Worksop Fire Station.
“These empty properties are often the site of fly-tipping, and then people just set the rubbish on fire inside.”
He added: “The police are investigating these cases of deliberate ignition.”
Anyone with any information about these fires is asked to call Notts Police on 101.
