41-year-old biker loses life in crash near Worksop

A motorcyclist has died after a serious crash near Worksop.

The rider, a 41-year-old man, was travelling along the A634 near Oldcotes when his bike left the road at around 10.45am on Sunday (April 4).

He sustained serious injuries and, despite the best efforts of air ambulance medics, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road remained closed between Oldcotes and Blyth for much of the day as investigation work was carried out at the scene.

The fatal crash happened less than 24 hours before two people died in an other collision on the M1 nortbound near Barlborough.

Collision investigator Louise Melbourne, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This is a tragic incident and, as with all road traffic collisions where people are killed or seriously injured, we are working hard to understand exactly what happened.”
