Crews spend all night battling bale fire

Fire crews have spent most of the night battling a blaze that saw 100 tonnes of baled straw go up in flames.

Crews from Worksop and Retford were called to the incident off the B6079 near Osberton shortly before 10pm last night.

As well as the straw, they found 300 tonnes of animal feed also alight and a pile of tyres.

The fire was only brought under control by 6am this morning.

They used hose-reel jets and a breathing apparatus to help douse the flames.
