Creswell: Man failed to tell authorities about part-time job
A Creswell man who failed to tell authorities he was working has admitted being overpaid in benefits by almost £13,000.
Ricki Brooks, 25, of John Street, admitted two charges of dishonestly failing to notifify authorities of a change in circumstances that would affect his entitlement and three offences of dishonestly making a false statement.
Worksop Magistrates’ Court heard that when Brooks lost his full-time job he failed to tell authorities about his part-time job at a bingo hall.
Magistrates refused to rule out a prison sentence when they adjourned the case. Brooks was due to be sentenced on Thursday, as the Guardian went to print.
