Craig is rewarded for charity efforts

A HARD-WORKING Worksop teen has been given a special award in praise of his dedication and tireless efforts for charity.

Craig Anderson, 20, from Northwood in Worksop has received the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service in the Jubilee Honours List.

He’ll be receiving the special MBE for voluntary groups along with everyone else at the Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice for going that extra mile to help out a worthwhile cause.

Craig does a variety of jobs to help out at Bluebell Wood - from working on the tills on market days, to cleaning and fundraising.

He has also worked as a community campaigner for the Prospect Estate.

“This award recognises all of the hard work that all of the volunteers who have stayed with Bluebell Wood over the years have put in,” said Craig.

Craig added: “I’m really proud to receive this award.”

“I was bullied at school, so to come through all of that and achieve something like this feels amazing after all that I’ve been through.”

All of the Bluebell Wood volunteers are set to receive their awards and a special commemorative plaque from the Lord Lieutenant of Sheffield.
