Craft fair a success

CRAFTY creations saw Gainsborough’s Salvation Army Citadel splitting at the seams at its first ever craft fair.

All sorts of handmade wares were on sale from knitted toys and blankets, to cards, scarves, embroidery and even cakes.

“It was a great success and we had lots of people through the door,” said Major Glenda Martin.

“It was our first ever craft fair. We usually have a Christmas fair, but this year we decided to do a craft fair because of our new craft group that has been formed.”

The Salvation Army Craft Club meets every Thursday from 1.30- 3.30pm at the Citadel in Beaumont Street.

“Everything at the fair had been made by Salvation Army members and also members of the craft club,” said Glenda.

A good amount of money was raised from the sale, which will go back into funds for the Gainsborough branch.

Glenda added: “I would like to thank all those who attended and worked so hard to make it a success.”
