Couple racially abused on board Sheffield to Nottingham train

At around 8pm on Sunday, May 22, a couple boarded the train at Sheffield and sat in the middle of the carriage.

A man also boarded and sat across from them. He then spent approximately 45 minutes of the journey racially abusing them before leaving the train at Nottingham.

Officers would like to speak to the man in this image, as he may be able to help with enquiries.

Investigating officer PC Mark Burgess said: “Abuse of any kind will absolutely not be tolerated on our railways.

“This incident left the victims feeling frightened for their own safety and so I urge anyone with information to get in touch.”
