Rotherham Council’s planning board unanimously voted in favour of the plan to use part of the building as a cafe on land at Fiddleneck lane, off Mansfield Road.

The board heard that the building already contains offices, chicken pens, pig sty areas, an egg processing plant, shop and storage.

The owner wanted to create a cafe in conjunction with the free range farm and shop. He intends the farm to be part educational with visitors viewing the different animals and purchasing the products.

The new cafe, which will be open from 10am-4pm, would not affect any passing trade.
