Council member retires

COUNCILLOR Ivor Jones has retired from his position at Bassetlaw Council.

Ivor announced his retirement at Shireoaks Parish Council’s last election.

Other council members said Ivor always strived to work in the best interest of residents and never sought recognition for his work.

In addition to working for the district authority, Ivor occasionally served on the parish council as councillor and chairman. He also contributed to Shireoaks’ numerous wins for Nottinghamshire Best Kept Village.

Shireoaks Parish Council thanked Ivor for making a difference to residents in the village and surrounding areas.
