Jamie Bracken, 28, of Harrison Road, admitted assault and criminal damage at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.

Ruth Snoddin, prosecuting, said police were called to the Rewind club on Clumber Street after door staff restrained a woman on the ground when she began kicking the glass doors.

PS Bailey put Bracken into his police car, but when he stopped the car to deal with another incident, she began swearing and shouting and tried to climb out of the window.

When PS Bailey tried to put her back in the car Bracken punched him in the face and tore the radio off his stab vest before hitting him a further two times.

Two more officers were called to restrain her, the court was told.

Melanie Hoffman, mitigating, said: “She is disgusted with herself. She is not someone who has troubled the courts before.”

She said Bracken had diabetes and struggled to control her sugar levels. She was also seeking help for depression following the end of a relationship.

The court heard that Bracken, a taxi dispatcher, would no longer be allowed to drive a cab on the school run.

Magistrates fined her £120 and ordered her to pay £100 to repair the radio and £50 to the officer as compensation, with costs of £85.
