Computer phone scam warning
WORKSOP web-surfers are being warned to remain vigilant as a computer scam sweeps the area.
The bogus scam has been noted around the country - but has recently been reported in and around Worksop.
Worksop IT consultant Chris Guest said: “I have customers all around Aston, Retford and Worksop and I’ve had a number of people calling and saying that they’ve been targeted.”

Hide Ad“You get a cold-call out of the blue from people claiming to be from Microsoft and they say that they are monitoring a virus on your computer. They then try to convince you to let them remotely control your computer so they can clean up the problems.”
He continued: “Once they are done, they ask for your credit card details and £150 - £200.”
