The winning youngster will press the switch, illuminating the town in festive sparkle, on Sunday 23rd November in front of the cheering crowds.

The ‘switch on’ will also mark the beginning of a three-day traditional festive market which will run from Sunday 23rd November until Tuesday 25th November, featuring log cabins and a range of gifts and delicious continental food for sale.

To enter, all your child needs to do is tell us why they should be the one to press the switch this year. What would it mean to them? Have they done anything to make you especially proud?

Please note that your child should be under 16 to enter and comfortable in front of large crowds.

Entries should be a maximum of 200 words and can be sent by post to Worksop Guardian, 21-27 Ryton Street, Worksop, Notts S80 2AY or send entries by email [email protected]

The winner will be contacted on Thursday 20th November, so don’t forget to include a daytime contact number and email address.
