COMMUNITY: Worksop WI

The March meeting was a well attended meeting. Being the group's annual meeting, the first part of the afternoon was devoted to the 'official' business where the Secretary and Treasurer presented their end of year reports regarding the group's achievements and current financial position. Following this, committee members were appointed. Two long serving members retired from the committee and after four eventful and very successful years Christine John stood down from the position of President. There was ballot to choose her successor and Averil Ley was duly elected. The retiring members were presented with gifts to mark the occasion. The remainder of the afternoon, members enjoyed social time over a cup of tea and also had the opportunity to buy homemade confections from the cake stall. Next month promises to be an interesting meeting when the group welcome a guest speaker, Jane Brownley whose presentation is titled '˜what's down below'.
