COMMUNITY: Parkinson's UK - Bassetlaw Branch

The first meeting of 2016 saw 50 members welcome Dr U Barua speaking about his life as a GP and about hospital patients with Parkinson's disease. Also interesting video pictures demonstrated the success of deep brain stimulation for suitable people with the condition. Five new members joined the branch and were warmly welcomed. Also this month, members enjoyed a coach trip to The Crucible Theatre, Sheffield to see a splendid performance of the musical 'Showboat'. The next meeting will take place on Tuesday, February 2, at 2pm, Worksop Cricket Club. The speaker will be Joanne Pritchard explaining the benefits of Nordic walking and dance for people with Parkinson's disease.
