COMMUNITY: Parkinson's UK

Bassetlaw branch - the February meeting was attended by 45 members who enjoyed a very interesting and informative presentation given by Joanne Pritchard. Her subjects were Nordic walking, dance plus overcoming 'freezing'. She demonstrated the many benefits they offer to Parkinson's patients. Joanne encouraged the group to join in dance and hand-jiving which caused great hilarity to everyone. Grateful thanks is extended to Joanne for a splendid afternoon, full of useful information and fun.

The Branch’s early Spring lunch takes place at The Lockkeeper, Worksop on Monday February, 13. Members will enjoy socialising together over a carvery lunch followed by a fun raffle and time to swap tips and ideas in a relaxed setting. The branch funds this social event and also the ever popular pilates classes which are expertly coached by Charlotte Eccleston.

The next meeting is on Tuesday, March 1, at 2pm, when the AGM will take place prior to welcoming guest speaker Ivana Alvares-Marshall who will talk about Alternative Therapies. The Branch meets on the first Tuesday of every month at Worksop Cricket Club, Central Avenue and new members are always warmly welcome.
