COMMUNITY: Cardiac Support Group

On May 9, the group, together with their Parkinson Friends, visited the Retford Majestic Theatre to see '˜Anything Goes'. An excellent and very enjoyable performance.

On Friday, June 3, the speaker was Mike Davey who came along to speak to the group about scenic coastal rambles. Mike’s Wife, Linda had given an interesting talk about tea in February, and rambling is their shared passion. He took them from Northumberland’s east cost and south, down country into Robin Hoods Bay, Staithes etc.visiting many places you will all know showing our glorious coast line, empty beaches and little known coves with wildlife and flora. Like all good photographers, Mike showed the group the wonderful countryside and breathtaking sunsets. They travelled down country to the south coast, into Sussex, Hampshire, Dorset and Cornwall and then up the west coast into Wales - too many places to name each one and all spectacular. Mike did mention “easy rambles”. Very enjoyable. The group are looking forward to a day outing to Liverpool on June 22 and other outings later in the year.

The next meeting takes place on Friday, July 1, at 2.30pm, Collinson Board Room, at Retford Hospital. The group will welcome Tracy Simmonds who will be talking about “useful and unusual household aids”. Tracey will replace the group’s previously advertised speaker who is out of the country at the moment. Please join the group and pop along. A warm welcome awaits.
