Colleges opening up apprenticeship opportunities

North Notts is holding open days at its Worksop campus on November 23 and again on February 7, both from 4.30pm to 7pm.

Meanwhile, Rotherham College is holding an open day at its Dinnington campus on November 19 from 10am to 12noon.

A spokesman for both colleges said: “Whether it’s time for a career change, you’re about to leave school or you don’t think A-Levels are right for you, North Notts College and Rotheram College can provide you with the skills and training you need to aim high and succeed in your chosen field.

“As well as a wide range of courses, both colleges also offer many apprenticeships, which give you on-the-job training and qualifications, whilst earning a wage.

“Apprenticeships can be a route into employment or university, and we offer a wide selection, from engineering to performing arts.

“We work hard to give everyone the opportunity to reach their potential and ambitions, so we also offer you the option to improve your GCSE English, maths and science grades.”

“At North Notts, students have the opportunity to study vocational courses that provide you with hands-on skills and experience.

“Skills are developed through projects, industry-standard equipment and briefs set by real employers.

“And at Rotherham, our state-of-the-art training hair and beauty salon, Inspire, and training restaurant The Wharncliffe are excellent facilities which are open to the public, giving students real-life experience of working in the industry.

At both open days, course tutors will be available to discus options with potential students and campus tours will also be available at both sites.
